Come catch Henderson O’Connor at the Coach House Pub on Saturday April 12 for 2:00 – 5:00 pm as they rock the bar.
There are remarkably few blues musicians featuring the lap steel guitar. Richard Henderson is one of those few. His characteristic edgy style is based on the traditions of blues, country, rockabilly, and rock ‘n’ roll, and he’s been named Instrumentalist of the Year by the Durham Region Music Society and First Runner Up in the Toronto Blues Society’s Talent Search.
Gary O’Connor is a Juno-nominated singer and songwriter, best known for his 1980s hit singles ‘Pay You Back With Interest’ and ‘All The Young Heroes’. Gary penned songs for many artists, including Eddie Money, and for Molly Hatchet and 38 Special, both popular US Southern Rock bands, still drawing capacity arena crowds after 4 decades. Gary’s song, ‘Back Where You Belong’, reached number 20 for 38 Special on Billboard’s Hot 100, the music industry’s gold standard record chart.
Together, Henderson O’Connor presents a unique historical take on early blues and rock ‘n’ roll featuring the lap steel guitar— all with a true vintage vibe.
